Stud Fees/Sales
We do not believe high stud fees are warranted in this economic climate so ALL our males have stud fees of $500+gst. It does NOT denote them as inferior males.
ALCLAIR ZUKKI (medium grey) sire Coonawarra Greystoke arrived from Dunedin and is "standing at stud" throughout this season.
He is a stunning even grey with two spots, great presence and conformation. He pumps out an extremely long staple length fleece which is crimpy, fine (latest stats are 24 micron at 4.5 years of age) and a delight to feel.
We've discovered he's a "no nonsense" male, persisting with the females, yet not 'knocking them about' as we've seen some males do. Stud Fee: $500+gst. He is NOT for sale.
For all males, talk with us about discounts for multiple matings, whether you require mobile matings, or would like your female agisted free with us until she's confirmed pregnant.
We believe it's often in the best interests of the females (especially those with current cria-at-foot) to remain in their herd, so there is less chance of harm or non-bonding and the owners can monitor and enjoy the cria's progress. Therefore, in almost all cases, we bring the boys to you for mating.
In some instances, a maiden may take several matings to get pregnant and we may suggest she comes to stay (maybe with another female from your herd) until she's confirmed pregnant. Discuss options - we will always do what's best for the female and her cria.
There's a live birth guarantee with the matings because you're paying for a live cria in your paddocks in 11 to 12 months time, not just for these boys to have lots of fun !!!!!
ALL THE MALES (EXCEPT ZUKKI) ARE NOW OFFERED FOR SALE AS WE DISBAND THE HERD. PLEASE THINK WHAT THEY CAN DO TO IMPROVE YOUR HERD GENETICS AND QUALITY AND MAKE REALISTICS OFFERS. ALL OFFERS WILL BE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED.
I feel incredibly sad writing this as we have "birthed", named, shown and grown most of these males. I see them out of my kitchen windows every day, so parting with them will be difficult but a "needs must". Their welfare and fitting into their new homes is very important to us. They will each bring their attributes and characters to new herds. |
