Gilead Alpacas Breeding Females For Sale

As we need to disband the herd, every female will gradually appear on these pages.  We feel sad, but know that each will bring something special to the herd dynamics of their new surroundings and to their new owners.

Talk to us about:- package deals, possibly deals including a stud male (and wether) for your place.

Please note: our females are not Shown in the ring once they become pregnant for the first time, so there will not be many Intermediate Show wins and no Senior credits.

We're open to negotiation and suggestions.  If you are new to alpaca ownership, we will also visit your property to check for any potential dangers to your alpacas, suggest fencing/yard requirements etc and assist with all the "settling in" and "firsts" you are likely to encounter, particularly throughout the first year ....... if you want us to.

Gilead Lady G (SW)

 Lady G (known as Lady)

DOB:  17/10/2004

Colour: Solid White

Dam: Somerset Peruvian Aurora (SW)
Sire: Kaihere Accoyo Spartacus (SW)

IAR
(registration) No: 76330

Remated to Gilead Grenadier Due February 2012

OFFERS

A solid white compact female who is very "typey" for Peruvian alpacas.  Lady G has now produced 4 cria (all white) and is due to produce No: 5 in February. Her first offspring, a Jolimont Attitude son (Kudos) has been certified as a stud male and has his first cria on the ground. Lady then produced two stunning daughters.

Lady G then birthed a solid white male cria by Gilead Grenadier (a Storm Trooper son) last year. His fleece with Lady's has produced a stunning white cria with a very commercial fleece, who gets better as he's growing. Quite possibly he's a potential stud male.

Rosie, like her dam Tia is a regular breeder.   As a roan grey, she won't last long so if you want Rosie, make an enquiry.

Rosie won her class every time she was entered into a Show when she was younger.  Her first cria is the cheeky Ronan (or Mountbatten) whose photo you see around the website and who is now a stud male.  She has produced two daughters since, (Ebony Rose & Rosala) so there is a strong family line now for sale. Her son from last year sold as a weanling very quickly.

Gilead Tia Maria (SB)
Gilead Tia Maria (known as young Tia)
DOB:  28th October 2009
Colour: Solid Black
Dam: Turi Moana Tia (MG)
Sire:  Canchones Heros (SB)

IAR (registration) No: 1006111
Mated to Alclair Zukki.

Due February 2012

OFFERS

Young Tia is a delightfully soft, well fleeced jet black girl. She comes from a strong grey line through her dam and a well known black line through her sire.  [In her main photo she had some leaves on her side - not a patch of another colour] !!

Young Tia has been mated to Alclair Zukki, and is due to birth shortly.  She has a slightly nervous disposition, but we think that becoming a mother will quieten her down as we've seen happen with other 'nervous' females!!!

If Young Tia is bought before she gives birth and she has a female cria, then someone will be getting a really good deal.

Gilead Octavia (SW)
Gilead Octavia
DOB:  11th October 2005
Colour: Solid White
Dam: Somerset Peruvian Aurora (SW)
Sire: Willowbank Jupiter (SMF)

IAR No: 89333
Expected to give birth: February 2012

Mated to: Gilead Grenadier

OFFERS

Octavia is a tall solid white female who is expecting her 3rd cria shortly.  She lost a pregnancy during 2010 which we didn't realise until she failed to give birth in 2011.  However, she's well pregnant again this time and due soon. She's a tall female with very good conformation and a quiet nature, remaining somewhere away from the front of the herd.

Octavia has Beneligh Moonshine (and therefore Purumbete Inti) in her ancestry. This all means that Octavia has some quality background genetics, but hasn't followed her dam in producing only white cria.  Her first, Olivia is solid medium fawn and her 2nd, Orinoco is solid light fawn.

Gilead Autumn Splendour
DOB:  3rd May 2005
Colour: Solid Medium Brown (not dark fawn as per IAR)
Dam: Suricaya Friesia
Sire: Kaihere Peruvian Ven Chura
IAR (registration) No: 89328
To be remated

OFFERS

Splendour has produced for us two of the highest quality sons and a stunning daughter the colour of herself.  Her first son is Grenadier, now a working male with his first few cria on the ground and her 2nd is Astrakhan, the Supreme Champion Huacaya at the 2010 Levin Show, Intermediate Champion and Champion Male Fleece at the 2010 Manawatu Show. Her daughter Serena born last year also faring well as a junior.

We've found that Splendour "breeds up" well, so we'll be sorry to lose this lovely Ven Chura daughter, but someone else will get years of trouble-free breeding from her if they're quick.

Splendour is one of those lovely quiet females who just gets on with life, no birthing dramas, no health issues, no veterinary treatment required so far - so we often don't notice her for a while because she's just "there".

IAR (registration) No: 26257

Male cria-at-foot (DOB 23/12/11)

Remated to Alclair Zukki 12th Jan 2012

Price: SOLD

Sassy - a tall, well conformed silver grey female still has fleece which, although higher in micron, has a soft handle and is carded up to sell in our retail wool shop.  We can't get enough processed for spinners. Sassy's show career in her early years netted 5 ribbons, most for first place but also a Coloured Championship. She is registered as a Dark Grey, but we think she's more a Medium Grey.

As a result of her own quality, Sassy 'breeds up' well, each of her cria having very crimpy dense fleece - her last daughter Saskia being a prime example (who anyone can look at if they want).  Sassy hasn't required any veterinary treatment and generally just mixes with the herd.

Sassy now has a male cria-at-foot (by Zukki) who looks dark brown at present, but could darken to black or turn 'roan'.  Whatever colour he ends up, this wee boy (called Zorro for now) is full of grey genes, crimpy, fine fleece and through both parents has the qualities which mark him out to watch for future stud potential.

Gilead Xena
DOB:  22nd February 2010
Colour: Solid Light Fawn
Dam: Gilead Warrior Princess (SMF)
Sire: Stoney Ridge Orlando (SMF)
IAR No: 1006120

OFFERS

There could be no other name for Warrior Princess's first female cria other than Xena, could there?

Xena is a well grown out young female approaching a year old.  She has that lovely "creamy" fine fleece and masses of it, waiting for her first shear (which will happen when it stops raining long enough)!!

She could breed fawns and even into black because her grand-dam Yasmin was black.  There's a chance for a range of colours from this youngster and we think she'd be a good young female to add to a breeding programme.

Gilead Czarina
DOB:  11th March 2008
Colour: Solid White
Dam: Cameloid Farms Candace (SLF)
Sire:  Silverstream Czar (SW)

IAR (registration) No: 1000979
Expected to give birth: March 2012

Remated to De La Vida Titan (SB)

OFFERS

Czarina as her name suggests is a daughter of the famous Silverstream Czar.  She looks very like him, stands tall and proud (excellent conformation) and has been a superb mum to her first cria, a golden fawn boy (Regan) by our black stud male De La Vida Titan. Her ancestry also includes Kaihere Peruvian Ven Chura on her dam's side so with such a combined lineage, it would be really easy to ensure Czarina's cria have super fine fleece by using only the highest quality males over her.

I am sure if a new owner wanted white from her, a homozygous white male could well produce white from Czarina.  Whatever she has, Czarina produces high quality as Regan is a potential stud male-to-be in our opinion. (Click the "more details" button).
